FELLOWSHIP BIBLE CHURCH

Building Meeting Minutes
Saturday, October 23, 2010
Held at FBC, 8:30 AM

The meeting started at 8:40 with Mike leading out in prayer.

Anton Bercich shared the following updates:
  • The windows are in! The look very nice and the LORD provided for them to be installed in a wonderful way and according to his perfect timing.
  • The roof is in. It is a roof membrane material that is rated for 30 years and has a R38 insulation rating. One open end on the roof work is above the elevator shaft. It needs to be boxed in and weather sealed until the time when the elevator can be installed.
  • The EIFS exterior (similar to stucco but with a R19 insulation rating) will be installed in multiple stages. The first step is installing the Tyvek layer which will protect from weather. After the Tyvek is installed and the 2nd and 3rd layers can be installed when the weather is >42 degrees.
  • Several contractors still owe the church finances at this time. ABC, Piper, and Oberg construction companies all owe the church money and are still in line to do work on the building.
  • The Curb, Gutter and Asphalt will not go in until the spring.
  • Anton will be installing the exterior doors this week to protect from winter conditions.

Pastor Mike shared the following updates:

  • The Lasko Foundation documentation will go out again this week.
  • A gentleman named Mike Bagley is desiring to help out with the building project. He and his partner specialize in getting churches discounted construction work and supplies.
  • Mike is going to work on a FBC Building ministry letter with pictures and background for sharing to larger ministries for prayer and potential financial support.

Paul Fay shared the following update with input from Anton Bercich:

  • Around 50K still remains in the building fund. Between this amount and the money owed to the church by the construction companies there should be able to finish the exterior of the church.

The meeting was closed in prayer by Paul Fay at ~9:35.

Our continued prayer is that the LORD will be be directing this building project because:
Psalm 127:1a Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it...

Please continue to pray for and give to the FBC building project!

Respectfully submitted,
Travis Thomsen

Winter Weather Still Holding Strong...

Fellow Prayer Partners,

On Monday 4/19 we worked and leveled the ground for the slab….. and as per the weather it rained/snowed and we were stopped. Last Monday 4/26 we installed and leveled the Pea-gravel for the concrete pour and unfortunately Tuesday we weren’t able to get the last of the interior footings formed to pour concrete. From Wednesday to today the weather has been bad….. Snow/Rain.

Please Pray that the weather will be good next week…. I have heard and read conflicting stories and we will try to get the slab poured.

Thanks,
Anton

Construction Update

Dear FBC Family,

Last Saturday Oberg Construction started prepping the ground for the slab. He came back on Monday and continued prepping the ground and filled in around the elevator slab. It Snowed and Rained on Tuesday. Wednesday was too wet to continue the ground work. Oberg is on site today and will hopefully finish the slab prep. The plumber will be on site today or tomorrow to repair a section of plumbing by the elevator shaft. Tomorrow Pyper Construction will be connecting and finishing the last interior forms for the footings.

I am looking at next Monday to get the slab poured….. My next dilemma is that is to suppose to rain Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This may hinder our concrete pour on Monday. Another week can possibly go by.

PLEASE Pray for this upcoming week…..

We need your Prayers!....

Habakkuk 3:2-19:

2LORD, I have heard the report about You and I fear
         O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years,
         In the midst of the years make it known;
         In wrath remember mercy.
      3God comes from Teman,
         And the Holy One from Mount Paran Selah
         His splendor covers the heavens,
         And the earth is full of His praise.
      4His radiance is like the sunlight;
         He has rays flashing from His hand,
         And there is the hiding of His power.
      5Before Him goes pestilence,
         And plague comes after Him.
      6He stood and surveyed the earth;
         He looked and startled the nations
         Yes, the perpetual mountains were shattered,
         The ancient hills collapsed
         His ways are everlasting.
      7I saw the tents of Cushan under distress,
         The tent curtains of the land of Midian were trembling.
      8Did the LORD rage against the rivers,
         Or was Your anger against the rivers,
         Or was Your wrath against the sea,
         That You rode on Your horses,
         On Your chariots of salvation?
      9Your bow was made bare,
         The rods of chastisement were sworn Selah
         You cleaved the earth with rivers.
      10The mountains saw You and quaked;
         The downpour of waters swept by.
         The deep uttered forth its voice,
         It lifted high its hands.
      11Sun and moon stood in their places;
         They went away at the light of Your arrows,
         At the radiance of Your gleaming spear.
      12In indignation You marched through the earth;
         In anger You trampled the nations.
      13You went forth for the salvation of Your people,
         For the salvation of Your anointed
         You struck the head of the house of the evil
         To lay him open from thigh to neck. Selah.
      14You pierced with his own spears
         The head of his throngs
         They stormed in to scatter us;
         Their exultation was like those
         Who devour the oppressed in secret.
      15You trampled on the sea with Your horses,
         On the surge of many waters.
      16I heard and my inward parts trembled,
         At the sound my lips quivered
         Decay enters my bones,
         And in my place I tremble
         Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress,
         For the people to arise who will invade us.
      17Though the fig tree should not blossom
         And there be no fruit on the vines,
         Though the yield of the olive should fail
         And the fields produce no food,
         Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
         And there be no cattle in the stalls,
      18Yet I will exult in the LORD,
         I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
      19The Lord GOD is my strength,
         And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
         And makes me walk on my high places.
         For the choir director, on my stringed instruments

Thank you for your Prayers.

Prayer Request and Answer

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

I just learned from Pastor Mike that there are two options to receive power to the new Church Building from Rocky Mountain Power.  One way will cost over $12,000.  The other way will cost $2000-$3000.  He is meeting with Rocky Mountain Power to find out the details at 8:30 this morning, Wednesday.  The cheaper way involves an easement through Stu Haun's property next door to the Church.  Pastor Mike will have to contact Stu about the easement.  Pastor Mike does not know at this time what that entails or if it is feasible for Mr. Haun to give the easement.  He asked for your prayers that the Lord directs clearly and that if money can be saved, then Mr. Haun will allow the easement.  Ultimately, it is the Lord's money and He knows the best plan for the power --- which ultimately comes from Him also!

Pray for wisdom and great communication for Pastor Mike.  This is also another opportunity to connect with our Church neighbors.

Thank you for praying,
Vince

Answer to our prayers!

Just talked with Stewart Haun and things do look good.  He is absolutely willing to let us run power from the pole out front of his property.  He's willing to give Rocky Mt. Power the necessary easement.  We just need to get a copy of the deed to his property for the legal paperwork.  Hopefully, that won't take too long.  Please continue to pray that this issue resolves inexpensively and quickly.

Thanks for the prayers!

Mike

Building Project Update

FBC Family,

Here is the update on the Church Building…..

I had the Ground excavated on Monday for the installation of the Electrical piping underground. The Electrician came out Tuesday and installed the piping (As per my Plan for this week…). I called the City of Lindon Monday evening at 5:15pm (They close at 5pm….) and left a message (Which is standard practice) for a Tuesday afternoon inspection. I didn’t not hear back from the City Tuesday morning….. So at about 9:30am Tuesday I called them. The lady at the City told me that she never got the message. I asked her if we could still get the inspection, she told me the Inspector (Gary) had a class in SLC in the afternoon and could not make it. I said what about Wednesday morning? She said that he had another class and couldn’t make it…. I then said how about Wednesday afternoon? She said he already had (2) inspections and couldn’t make anymore. I asked her if there was someone else who could make the inspection…. She told me she would make a couple of calls and would call me back. She did….. but with no avail. So Thursday morning I met with Gary and he passed the inspection. I then called Oberg Const. for the backfill and he couldn’t make it out until Friday morning, which would have been fine, I could then pour the interior footing on Friday afternoon. But as everyone saw today….. it rained and snow throughout the day, so we could do the work. This has put the work off for another week!....

I am looking at next Monday to get the interior footings and elevator slab poured….. My next dilemma is that is to suppose to rain Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This will stop the Elevator walls from being installed, back filling of dirt around the elevator, and the slab from being poured. Another week….

This may be part of God’s plan….. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Pray for this upcoming week, we do have an enemy that wants to stop us…. But our GOD is greater!

I need your Prayers!....

James said “The effectual Prayers of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16b) We were made righteous through Christ Jesus.

Paul said “Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17)

Thank you in advance…..

Update and Prayer Request

We were going to pour the interior footings and elevator floor last week, but ran into weather and drawing conflicts (I thought I had all of them resolved… but found a couple of different items that need to be clarified…..). I am meeting with the Concrete, Framer, and the Plumbing Contractors on Monday to get everybody on the same page.

We will be installing the electrical and phone/data conduit on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will be pouring the interior footings and elevator floor. Then on Thursday form and pour the elevator walls. On Monday 3/29 we will pouring the slab.

We have had so many errors and hold ups….. Please Pray that we can accomplish these items that according to the schedule I have implemented (If they are according to God’s will)  and for the rest of the building.
I will keep you updated each week as we progress through the building of our Lord’s house.

Sincerely,
Anton

Prayer Update

As per our yearly meeting I said I would send out an email for specific Prayer for the New Building…. I am sorry I didn’t get this out on Monday.

Weather bearing…. We are to pour the interior footings, finish the under slab electrical and a little plumbing. Also the replacement of the sidewalk on State St.

Please Pray that Blain and Neale (Subcontractors) make it out to the site and we can get this accomplished. Then Next will be the slab. Then the framing.

I will give an update each week for specific Prayers…..

Thank you so much for your Prayers.

Anton
